Don't just survive your story—write a new one.

It is important to know that your story doesn't start or end with emotional injury. Recovery takes time and reconnection to your internal compass and inner strength. Let’s help you reclaim your narrative.

It's easy to define ourselves through our experiences, good and bad. But your story doesn't start or end with emotional injury.

I have worked with many adult clients who have a history of childhood trauma, abuse or neglect. I am especially skilled in partnering with adults who have experienced physical, sexual, emotional, psychological or religious abuse within their relationships. It can be difficult to recognize all types of abuse in our relationships (familial, romantic and social, etc...), which can make survivors feel isolated and alone.

I take a non-judgmental but affirming approach when working with this special population and work with my clients to process their trauma, support the development of coping skills and find their own sense of empowerment.

I'm Erica R. Laub, a therapist and coach who helps adults struggling with relational trauma, anxiety, and depression. My approach is compassionate, direct, and focused on helping you reconnect with your inner wisdom. Together, we'll create a safe space for you to heal and move forward with clarity and confidence. My approach is compassionate, friendly, and direct. I value realness and gentle challenge in the therapy room, and I believe healing happens when we feel seen, understood, and safe enough to begin reconnecting with our own inner wisdom.

Individual Therapy

My approach is compassionate, friendly, and direct. I value realness and gentle challenge in the therapy room, and I believe healing happens when we feel seen, understood, and safe enough to begin reconnecting with our own inner wisdom.

My work focuses on helping you:

  • Reclaim your identity after trauma

  • Feel more grounded in your body and life

  • Develop new coping skills to regulate your nervous system

I use a range of evidence-based modalities, including narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and exposure-based strategies, all tailored to your unique needs.

My practice also specializes in treating:

  • OCD, using exposure-based therapies

  • Misdiagnosed or overlooked ADHD in adults, to help you find solutions and new routines to better manage your career and relationships

  • Negative self-talk, using a strengths-based approach to limit distorted, unhelpful beliefs

Coaching

In addition to therapy, I also offer coaching for clients seeking guidance in areas like identity work, boundary setting, spiritual deconstruction, and navigating relationships with more clarity.

My religious trauma and cult recovery coaching offers a supportive space to explore the impact of harmful religious or high-control group experiences. This coaching is a collaborative and validating experience focused on helping you make sense of your past and determine what feels right for you moving forward.

Sessions may involve examining spiritual abuse, questioning internalized beliefs, clarifying values outside of rigid systems, and navigating the challenges of redefining identity, relationships, or meaning. This work is collaborative and centered on your autonomy—focused on helping you make sense of your experiences and determine what feels right for you moving forward.
